Healthcare and Insurance
Adult air travelers are among the top consumers of health insurance. They are mature, active adults who are interested in the best ways to effectively manage their health and lifestyles, as well as those of their families and employees. Staying healthy and being prepared for the unexpected are top of mind for these travelers.
Scarborough research shows that in the past 3 years, travelers at our New York airports were less likely than the average adult in the NY DMA to go to the hospital for various services, indicating that our air travelers take care of themselves and try to avoid non-essential healthcare services. These travelers are:
- 18% less likely to use a hospital for nonsurgical cosmetic dentistry
- 10% less likely to have an overnight procedure at a hospital
- 6% less likely to have cardiac care at a hospital
- 5% less likely to have pediatric services at a hospital
