Overview

Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) is the primary point of departure for the region's 2.2 million residents. Located 16 miles from downtown Pittsburgh, the airport saw over 8 million travelers in 2011.

PIT is consistently recognized for its quality in meeting travelers' needs, and has recently added direct service to Paris five days a week. The airport offers an average of 170 daily non-stop flights to over 38 domestic and international destinations such as Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.

Pittsburgh has one of the highest percentages of workers employed in executive or managerial positions in the country, and a large business traveler class. Drawing executives from all over the country are several Fortune 500 companies, including PNC Financial Services Group, PPG Industries, United States Steel Corporation, H.J. Heinz and WESCO International.
