PATH commuters are well-educated professionals. Two out of three passengers have a full-time job and 70% of them have been to college or graduate school. They value education to further their career goals as well as for their family.
37% of PATH riders are between the ages of 18 and 34 years old which matches the age group most likely to get a Masters Degree later in their career or to pursue continuing education.
According to Scarborough research:
- 27% of PATH riders have earned a Masters Degree
- PATH commuters are more than twice as likely to get a postgraduate degree than most adults in the New York DMA
27% of PATH commuters have teenagers living at home. It is likely that these well-educated professionals will pass their value of education on to their children and encourage them to pursue a college degree.
