Our sustainable strategy is an integral part of our development and progression as a company. We are committed to the improvement of the environments in which we live and work and this has led us to develop the JCDecaux Sustainable Development Strategy. It consists of six priorities distributed across the three components of Sustainable Development – Environmental, Social and Stakeholder priorities.

ENVIRONMENTAL PRIORITIES

In our line of work, consumption is inevitable. Our goal is to reduce the energy consumption of our vehicles, our furniture, and our buildings. We also strive to reduce water consumption, and our overall waste - while always increasing the amount of waste being sorted and recycled. As of 2018 in effort to reduce our consumption, we have 845 active solar powered units across our street furniture markets and have replaced the use of fluorescent tubes with LED bulbs within our NYC street-level units. We have also been LEED certified for the building of our new headquarters at the Empire State Building by creating a highly efficient, and cost-saving work environment.

To help monitor and manage our environmental priorities, JCDecaux NA is ISO 14001: 2015 certified. ISO 14001 is an internationally-recognized standard; maintaining and renewing its status every year confirms that the environmental impact of conducting and operating our business is being tracked, monitored and continuously improved.

SOCIAL PRIORITIES

JCDecaux aims to provide a safe, respectful working environment for our employees. Built on a foundation of shared company values, we have implemented an effective Health & Safety and Social Policy across the group. JCDecaux North America, Inc. was certified as a great workplace in 2018 and 2019 by the independent analysts at Great Place to Work®. We have earned this credential based on extensive ratings provided by its employees in anonymous surveys. We recognize that our people want to make a difference and provide the culture of accountability, challenge and opportunity for them to make an impact.

STAKEHOLDER PRIORITIES

It is important that our stakeholders are enlightened on our dedication to quality and sustainable development. We train and educate all employees on the business model, values, and history of JCDecaux, and strive to strengthen their commitment to Sustainable Development and reiterate how their roles and daily actions impact the environment.
