Our sustainable strategy is an integral part of our development and progression as a company. We are committed to the improvement of the environments in which we live and work and this has led us to develop the JCDecaux Sustainable Development Strategy. It consists of six priorities distributed across the three components of Sustainable Development – Environmental, Social and Stakeholder priorities.
ENVIRONMENTAL PRIORITIESIn our line of work, consumption is inevitable. Our goal is to reduce the energy consumption of our vehicles, our furniture, and our buildings. We also strive to reduce water consumption, and our overall waste - while always increasing the amount of waste being sorted and recycled. As of 2018 in effort to reduce our consumption, we have 845 active solar powered units across our street furniture markets and have replaced the use of fluorescent tubes with LED bulbs within our NYC street-level units. We have also been LEED certified for the building of our new headquarters at the Empire State Building by creating a highly efficient, and cost-saving work environment.
To help monitor and manage our environmental priorities, JCDecaux NA is ISO 14001: 2015 certified. ISO 14001 is an internationally-recognized standard; maintaining and renewing its status every year confirms that the environmental impact of conducting and operating our business is being tracked, monitored and continuously improved.
